Traditional Wedding Dances

First Dance - This is the bride and grooms dance. It’s the first moment that they get to share together as bride and groom.

Father/Daughter Dance - This is the bride and her father.

Mother/Son Dance - This is the groom and his mother.

Anniversary Dance - This is a fun dance. The DJ will invite all married couples to the dance floor.  They will dismiss couples who have been married less than 12 hours.  Of course the only couple to sit should be the bride and groom.  Then the DJ will dismiss those married less than one year, five years, ten years until there is one couple remaining on the dance floor.

Dollar Dance - The original premise of this dance was to give the bride and groom the extra spending money for their honeymoon.  Today the dollar dance is sometimes replaced with the wish dance. The bride and groom take the dance floor. The gentleman guest line up to dance with the bride and the lady guest line up to dance with the groom. The maid of honor and the best man collect the dollars.  This dance also allows the bride and groom a few seconds with each of their guest.

Wish Dance -  The bride and groom take the dance floor and guest cut in every 15-30 seconds to dance with the bride and groom. This dance is sometimes used to replace the receiving line.

Snowball Dance - This is started with an uptempo song to get people moving. The wedding party is called to the dance floor. The music stops and the female members of the bride party asked seated male guest to dance with them.  The groomsmen do the same with the female guest. This continues until EVERYONE is on the dance floor.

The last dance - This is a slow song and the last dance of the evening. This lets guest know that the celebration is coming to an end.
