Favors are a symbol of saying thank you for coming, from newlyweds to their families and friends. No one is sure where the tradition of favors started, but records show that the tradition dates back to the 16th-17th centuries.
Traditions of other cultures
Malaysian Culture - The traditional favor is a painted, decorated eggs
Italian - give chocolates or candy filled with almonds or almond paste
Victorian - party "crackers"- decorated tubes filled with goodies
Middle Eastern - A candy coated almond represents both the bitter and the sweet of marriage. Five pieces
represent the five wedding wishes; health, wealth, happiness, fertility and longevity.
Spanish - Orange blossoms in a bud vase for each guest
Greek- glass charms in the shape of an eye. This was to protect them from bad luck

Traditional favors based on your families culture/religion/historical background.
Highlight a hobby or activity. Be creative, give something that is very you created from scratch.
